
Patna. Despite prohibition in Bihar, liquor smugglers are using women. This has been disclosed by Patna Railway Police. Police have busted an inter-district liquor smuggling gang in which girls and women were used to transport liquor from one place to another by train. Liquor smugglers also involved train coach attendants in this work. Patna Railway Police has arrested a total of 14 people of the gang including 11 women.
Actually, these people were caught from Seemanchal Express at Patliputra station in Patna. Apart from Seemanchal Express coach attendant Nikhil Kumar, 11 women and 3 male smugglers traveling in the same train were arrested. On the orders of Railway SP Ananth Kumar Rai, Danapur Railway DSP Kanchan Raj had conducted a search operation in this train. 95 liters of foreign liquor, Rs 40 thousand cash, 6 smart phones and 5 keypad mobiles were recovered from them. A case was registered against all of them at Patliputra Junction Railway Station. Today, after presenting them in the court, all of them were sent to jail. The network of these smugglers is now being investigated using the CDR of the mobile phones seized from them.
Let us tell you that out of the 11 women who have been arrested, 3 are very young. The arrested women have been identified as Ratni Devi, Shanti Devi, Rekha Devi, Reena alias Shabari Devi, Indira Devi, Tilia Devi, Shobha Devi, Anjali Kumari of Begusarai, Phoolmati Devi and Khushi Kumari of Nalanda and Rukhsana of Vaishali. Coach attendant Nikhil Kumar of Bulandshahr, UP has also been caught. Out of these 11 women and girls, 7 women smugglers have already gone to jail. One girl even ran away after pushing a policeman last time. Every woman is given Rs 2000 on every trip. According to the information, she was bringing liquor from Dildarnagar in UP.
According to the information, these women board the general bogie with railway tickets. Liquor smugglers are also around them. According to the police, the coach attendant was associated with these smugglers. The smuggler used to give him Rs 2000 for every trip. The coach attendant also kept his liquor. Smugglers used to get down with these women at Patliputra Junction or Danapur station carrying liquor. These women tried to mislead the police by talking about Ganga bath and Maghi Purnima bath, but were caught when their bags were checked.
