
New Delhi. Weather is likely to remain active in the southern parts of the country during the next two days, while a gradual increase in temperature is about to begin in North India. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there may be heavy rain in South Tamil Nadu, Kerala and some areas of Mahe between 21 and 23 February. Strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour along with thunderstorms have also been predicted in these areas. Along with this, the situation in marine areas is likely to be more challenging.
There has been a warning of winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the Gulf of Mannar, Sri Lanka coast and South Andaman Sea, whose gusts can reach up to 60 kilometers per hour. Fishermen have been advised to remain cautious in these areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the north-west may increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next six days. The minimum temperature is also likely to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Light rain and snow likely in Himalayan regions
Light weather activity may persist in the hilly states. There is a possibility of rain or snowfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on February 23. At the same time, there may be rain or snowfall at some places in Uttarakhand between 22 and 24 February, due to which the high altitude areas may remain cold.

IMD has advised farmers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to exercise special caution. The department has said that in the areas where the paddy crop is ripe, it should be harvested and kept in a safe place. Also, maintain proper drainage system in the fields. In view of the possibility of strong winds, support bananas, vegetables and horticulture crops. Overall, the next few days in South India are going to be important in terms of rain and strong winds. Whereas due to increase in temperature in North India, the weather is likely to be dry and relatively hot.
