
The International Cricket Council has taken strict action against Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Arshdeep Singh. After the clash with Daryl Mitchell in the final match played between India and New Zealand, the ICC found Arshdeep guilty of Level-1 of the Code of Conduct, under which he was fined 15 percent of the match fee and also got one demerit point. This incident took place in the India vs New Zealand final match played on Sunday, March 8, in which the New Zealand team was chasing the target of 256 runs. Arshdeep was bowling in the 11th over of New Zealand’s innings, on which Mitchell slightly pushed a ball and the ball went back into Arshdeep’s hands. Meanwhile, Arshdeep had hit the ball hard on the pads of Daryl Mitchell in an aggressive manner. Arshdeep Singh was fined 15 percent of the match fee and was also given one demerit point. Arshdeep was found guilty of Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Under this rule, if a player throws any equipment in an international cricket match in a dangerous manner towards another player, then action can be taken against him. Let us tell you that Arshdeep has got the first demerit point in the last 24 months. Let us tell you that if a player gets 4 or more demerit points in a span of 24 months, he may have to face a ban of one Test match or 2 ODI/T20 matches. If we look at the performance of Arshdeep Singh in the 2026 T20 World Cup, he had taken 9 wickets in 8 matches. His best performance in the tournament came against Zimbabwe, where he took 3 wickets for just 24 runs in 4 overs. But he proved to be very expensive in the Super-8 match against West Indies and then in the semi-finals as well. Arshdeep Singh has so far taken 127 wickets in International T20 cricket and is the Indian bowler who has taken the most wickets in this format.
