Jammu. Amidst the harsh winter in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army has opened a decisive front against terrorism. ‘Operation All Out’ has been going on continuously for the last seven days in the inaccessible, snow-covered forests of Kishtwar and Doda. This is the biggest search operation taking place in winter so far, in which about two thousand soldiers are deployed. According to intelligence inputs, there is a possibility of a large number of Pakistani terrorists hiding in these areas, which have been completely surrounded.
Generally, terrorists take advantage of snowfall, fog and closed roads in winter and hide in the forests. But this time the army has changed its entire strategy. Temporary bases, forward posts and surveillance points have been established in high altitude areas. The soldiers are patrolling round the clock amidst minus temperature, strong icy winds and dense forests. Every possible movement corridor, from valleys to mountain ridgelines, has been sealed.
According to sources, due to strict action by security forces in recent months, terrorists have been confined to high and deserted areas. Due to being cut off from the local population, they are neither getting supplies nor the opportunity to plan any major attack. Some terrorists are trying to get help by putting pressure on the villages, but local support has almost ended.
In this operation, the search is on for Jaish-e-Mohammed’s rewarded commander Saifullah and his associate Adil. A reward of Rs 5 lakh each has been declared on both of them. People have openly supported the army and said that they should give information against the terrorists, calling them enemies of the country.
The operation is being completely multi-agency operated. Along with the army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, Special Operations Group, Forest Guards and Village Defense Guards are engaged in Operation All Out. Every activity is being monitored with modern technology like drones, thermal imaging, ground sensors and surveillance radar.
