Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Wednesday that Australia will play three T20 International matches in Lahore before the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.

Before the World Cup, Pakistan and Australia will play day-night T20 matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on January 29, January 31 and February 1. Australia will play the World Cup group matches in India, while Pakistan has to play all its matches in Sri Lanka. This will be the first occasion since April 2022 while Australia will tour Pakistan for the T20 series. The Australian team will reach Lahore on 28 January. Australia played some Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan last year. Pakistan’s selectors will meet with head coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Aga later this week to finalize the squad for the series against Australia and the World Cup. The team will be announced next week after the approval of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
