In the fourth match of the five-match T20 series being played between Bhutan and Myanmar, young spinner Sonam Yeshe performed a feat which no bowler had been able to do in T20 International cricket till date. He created a new world record by taking 8 wickets for just 7 runs.
In this match, Myanmar batsmen looked completely helpless in front of Sonam Yeshe’s spin. Yeshe spent only 7 runs in his four over spell and sent 8 batsmen to the pavilion. His economy was just 1.75, which makes this historic performance even more special. Thanks to his lethal bowling, the entire Myanmar team fell apart like a pack of cards and was reduced to just 26 runs.
After defeating Myanmar on such a low score, Bhutan won the match by a huge margin of 82 runs. With this victory, Bhutan has also taken an unassailable 4-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. This is being considered a memorable moment for Bhutan cricket.
Earlier, the record for best bowling in T20 International was in the name of Malaysia’s Sayazrul Idrus, who took 7 wickets for 8 runs against China in 2023. But Sonam Yeshe has now become the first bowler in the world to take 8 wickets in an innings of T20 International.
Yeshe’s name has now topped the list of best bowling figures in T20 International. His performance is not only historic for Bhutan cricket but will also be remembered for a long time on the global cricket stage.
