
Varanasi. Police of Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh have attached property in the illegal intoxicant cough syrup case. On Saturday, assets worth more than Rs 5 crore 77 lakh of Bhola Jaiswal and his family members were attached in Varanasi.
Sonbhadra Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Verma said that as per the complaint registered at Robertsganj police station, seven immovable properties worth Rs 4.55 crore and four vehicles worth Rs 51.16 lakh have been attached to the accused Bhola Prasad Jaiswal in Madauli, Bharlai and Jagdishpur areas of Varanasi.
Apart from this, Rs 70,99,228 deposited in bank accounts have also been attached. The total value of the attached movable and immovable properties is said to be Rs 5,77,17,990. Verma said that all these properties were purchased with the money earned from smuggling of illegal drugs.
He said that Bhola Jaiswal, a resident of Adampur police station area of Varanasi, is the father of Shubham Jaiswal, the main conspirator of cough syrup smuggling. The SP said that the campaign against drug trafficking and illegal properties acquired from it will continue and strict action will be taken against such crimes in future also.
