
New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cold wave at different places in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand on January 15. There will be cold day at different places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Punjab. There is a strong possibility of dense fog at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. There is a strong possibility of dense to very dense fog at isolated places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Western Uttar Pradesh.
In which states will there be dense fog?
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of very dense fog in different parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on January 15 till January 16 in the morning/night hours and dense fog will remain in different areas till January 19, 2026.
Very dense fog is likely to prevail over isolated/parts of Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh in morning/night hours till 19 January and dense fog over isolated areas on 15, 20 and 21 January 2026. There is a possibility of dense fog in Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh till January 16, in western Rajasthan till January 15, in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between January 15-19, in Bihar till January 21, in the Ganga plains of West Bengal till January 16-19, in Assam and Meghalaya till January 18.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a high possibility of cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in different areas of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on January 15 and cold wave conditions will prevail in different areas on January 16. There is a high possibility of cold wave conditions in isolated areas in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand on January 15 and 16, in Western Uttar Pradesh and Delhi on January 15, and in Odisha during January 15-17.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and rain and snowfall at isolated places in Uttarakhand during January 16-20. There is a possibility of rain at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh during January 18-20 and in Western Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on January 19 and 20. There is a possibility of light/moderate rain with thunder at many places in Lakshadweep on January 15.

There is a possibility of a gradual increase in the minimum temperature in North-West India during the next 5 days and after that there will be no significant change for the next 2 days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over Central India during the next 3 days; There will be a gradual increase of 2-4°C during the next 4 days.
There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over East India during the next 4 days; There will be a gradual increase of 2-3°C during the next 3 days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperature in Maharashtra during the next 24 hours; There will be a gradual fall of 2-3°C during the next 2 days followed by a gradual rise of 2-3°C during the next 4 days. There will be no significant change in the minimum temperature over Gujarat state during the next 24 hours and there will be a gradual increase by 2-3°C during the next 2 days and thereafter there will be no significant change for the next 4 days.
