
New Delhi . International Yoga Day (Yoga Day 2026) is now just 100 days away. As a start, a grand event of Yoga Mahotsav-2026 will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 13 March 2026. Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) under the Ministry of AYUSH is organizing Yoga Mahotsav-2026 on March 13, 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan.
100 organizations will promote yoga in 100 cities
Let us tell you that, this event marks the beginning of 100 days left for International Yoga Day-2026. Ministry of AYUSH in collaboration with its various stakeholders has designed the program under 100 Days Remaining, in which 100 organizations are promoting Yoga in 100 locations/cities. A grand program will be organized at Vigyan Bhawan on March 13, 2026 from 9:00 am.

The program was attended by Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of AYUSH and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare; Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH; Dr. HR Nagendra, President of Bengaluru-based S-Vyasa Society; Ms. Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, along with dignitaries, yoga gurus, yoga experts, AYUSH specialists, experts in modern medicine and allied sciences, representatives, yoga lovers and yoga practitioners will be present.
AYUSH Minister said- Yoga is our cultural
AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly had taken a historic decision to declare June 21 as International Yoga Day in the year 2014. This worldwide acceptance of Yoga is a matter of pride for our country, as Yoga is an integral part of our cultural and spiritual heritage. Ministry of AYUSH is the nodal ministry for organizing International Day of Yoga (IDY). Every year, the main event of International Yoga Day is a mass yoga demonstration, led by the Prime Minister himself. Preparations for International Yoga Day-2026 are already underway.
Taking the message of yoga to the common people
Let it be known that. The remaining days leading up to the International Yoga Day are celebrated as an important phase of the preparations for the festival every year. During this period, the Ministry strives to widen its reach and promote the message of Yoga extensively, with an aim to connect with people across the country and encourage greater public participation in the 100 days leading up to the International Yoga Day 2026.
Proposal to celebrate at 100 places
On the occasion of the upcoming 12th International Yoga Day, the Ministry has proposed to celebrate the occasion at 100 iconic locations across the country. The 100-day countdown has begun and preparations for International Yoga Day-2026 are gaining momentum, inspiring people across the country to embrace and celebrate yoga as a path to holistic well-being.
