New Delhi: Delhi Police has had an encounter with the shooters of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Two shooters have been arrested after this encounter. Special CP (Law and Order) Zone-1 Ravindra Yadav gave this information at Delhi Police Headquarters on Thursday. He told that both the accused were involved in the recent firing incidents in Paschim Vihar East and Madhu Vihar.

Special CP Ravindra Yadav said that the anti-narcotics team of North District had received an important clue, on the basis of which the team intercepted both the criminals in Barari area. Seeing themselves surrounded, the miscreants started firing on the police team. In retaliation, one of the accused, Deepak, was shot in the leg, while the other accused, who is a minor, was also caught from the spot. The weapons used in the firing have been recovered from both of them.

According to Special CP Ravindra Yadav, in recent times Delhi Police had launched a comprehensive and strict campaign against gangsters, due to which ransom calls and gang activity had reduced. Despite this, these firing incidents had increased the concern of the police. After this incident all the districts were put on alert. Due to this vigilance, the accused were tracked down and arrested after the encounter within 24 hours.

Youth are being pushed into crime through social media

Special CP Ravindra Yadav said that gangsters are luring youth and minors into the world of crime through social media, especially Instagram. In this case, the minor accused had a fight with someone in Rohini area. With the intention of taking revenge, he contacted a fake account that posted pictures with weapons on social media. He was lured that if he worked for the gang he would get weapons and money. After this he was called to different places and given weapons. Also the location of the firing was told. The instructions were also to spread terror in the area by firing multiple times, not at the same place, but at different times.

If you receive a ransom call, inform the police immediately.

Special CP Ravindra Yadav said that the name of Randeep Malik is appearing in this entire network, who is wanted in a famous murder case earlier too. This contact happened through him. Later, responsibility for the firing was also taken on social media. Interstate connection is also being investigated in the case. Action will be taken in coordination with Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh Police. He appealed to the public that if anyone receives such threat or ransom call, they should immediately inform the police. With this, Delhi Police will not only provide security, but if needed, will also take action under strict laws like MCOCA, Section 111 of BNS.
