India-Bangladesh relations: After the completion of general elections, the ice on the relations between India and Bangladesh has started melting. On one hand, there are signs of resumption of visa services between the two countries, on the other hand, Animul Haq, the new Sports Minister of Tariq Rehman government, has expressed his intention to improve sports relations with India.

Initiative to improve sports relations

Bangladesh Sports Minister Animul Haq said he wants to quickly resolve the issue of Bangladesh’s absence from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He met the Deputy High Commissioner of India on this subject and had a detailed discussion on the T20 World Cup. He described this conversation as cordial. Bangladesh’s side has expressed its desire to resolve all matters quickly and has emphasized on maintaining friendly relations with neighboring countries.

All visa services will be restored soon

Seeing the improvement in relations between the two countries, India’s Senior Consular Officer in Bangladesh Aniruddha Das said that New Delhi will soon fully restore all visa services in Bangladesh. Anirudh Das, during a conversation at ‘Sylehat District Press Club’, said that currently medical and double-entry visas are being issued by India. The process of resuming other visa categories including tourism is underway.
