T20 World Cup 2026 is going to start from 7th February. This mega event of ICC is being organized in India and Sri Lanka this time. A total of 20 teams are participating in this tournament. Players of most of the teams have got visas for India, the only problem is with those players who are of Pakistani origin. Let us tell you, there are many teams including England in whose squad there are many players of Pakistani origin. In such a situation, those players have to face problems in visa related matters of India. Although the visa of any player has not been rejected by India yet, only some extra documentation is required.

England’s T20 World Cup preparations have also been hampered due to non-availability of visa. Their two spinners Adil Rashid and Rehan Ahmed are facing delay in getting visas from the Indian government. Both Rashid and Ahmed are of Pakistani origin and therefore, regardless of their nationality or team representation, they will be subjected to additional administrative scrutiny during visa applications. This delay means that both players are unlikely to travel to Sri Lanka with the rest of the squad this weekend for a white-ball series, and there remains uncertainty over the timing of their joining up with the team.

It is believed that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has received assurance from the Indian Government that there is no objection to the visa applications of both the players. However, the timeline is still unclear, due to which the ECB has sought help from the UK government to expedite the process. Despite this setback, the ECB is confident that Rashid and Ahmed will get the necessary visas on time to play in the World Cup. England will start their campaign in the T20 World Cup from February 8, their first match is against Nepal.
