AI Impact Summit: Galgotias University has brought disgrace to the entire country and the world in the Robo Dog controversy. On this international insult, Vistaar News asked sharp questions to the university management, in response to which the university said that their side became a victim of mis-communication. However, during the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’, Galgotias University has been directed to vacate the expo venue of the summit. Because, the university presented the Chinese-made robot dog displayed in its stall as its ‘in-house’ technology, which led to controversy.

Allegation made after fact-check

At the summit, the representative of the university described the robot named ‘Orion’ as developed by its ‘Center of Excellence’, but this zerobot is actually the Go2 model of Chinese company Unitree Robotics. After the viral video and fact-check on social media, allegations were raised that this is a commercial Chinese product, which was falsely tried to show Indian innovation.

Clarification given in conversation with Vistaar News

Galgotias University gave its clarification on this entire matter in an exclusive conversation with Vistaar News. University Registrar NK Gaur said that their representative in the pavilion accidentally gave wrong information. There was only manipulation of words. In which we claimed that we had purchased the robot from China, the purpose of which was to educate students about it and to research on it and create an even better robot.

Galgotias University’s stall will be vacated from Bharat Mandapam

However, despite all the cleanliness, the venue Bharat Mandapam was asked to vacate the stall of Galgotias University and electricity was also cut. Organizers said that in view of the misleading claims and uproar, they wanted to protect ‘intellectual property’ rules and the dignity of the summit, so the university was asked to stop its demonstration and vacate the venue. According to the organizers, the main reasons behind this were violation of rules and respecting the vision of ‘Make in India’.
