Delhi Lashkar Module : Special Cell of Delhi Police has made a big disclosure. Investigation of the suspected module of Lashkar-e-Taiba captured in the capital has revealed that a network of youth of Bangladeshi origin was created under the conspiracy of Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

According to the police, this network was being operated by a Lashkar commander based in Bangladesh. The investigation also revealed that the target of the module was four major metro cities of the country — Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. According to sources, recce had also been done at some places and there were preparations for an attack on the occasion of Holi.

After receiving intelligence input, the Special Cell intensified the action and busted the module. Officials associated with the investigation claim that Bangladeshi handler Shabbir Ahmed Lone was in direct contact with Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed and terrorist leader Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.

Police say that ISI was setting up a local module through Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in India. Funding was being done for this so that coordinated attacks could be carried out in big cities. Shabbir was working as a link between ISI and Bangladeshi origin terrorist Saidul Islam in this network.

According to the Special Cell, Shabbir Ahmed Lone was caught with AK-47 and hand grenade in a suicide attack plot in 2007. After coming out of jail in 2018 after completing his sentence, he reactivated the network and started connecting youth through social media. The investigating agencies have found many important clues from his digital trail.
