
New Delhi. A fire broke out in South Delhi’s famous Nature Bazaar on Sunday morning causing huge destruction. About 50 shops of handicrafts and artefacts were burnt to ashes in this massive fire. According to Delhi Fire Service, the fire was reported at 7:37 am. Since the market consisted mostly of temporary and semi-permanent shops, filled with goods made of wood, clothes and handicrafts, the fire took a huge form. Within no time, a cloud of black smoke covered the entire sky. The fire department immediately sent 10 vehicles to the spot.
The media report quoted the official as saying that the fire broke out in Nature Bazaar located near Andheria turn in Lado Sarai area where many temporary and semi-permanent shops selling handicrafts and other goods were established. Firefighters launched a massive operation to control the fire and prevent it from spreading. About 50 shops were burnt and destroyed in this incident. Firefighters completely extinguished the fire and carried out cooling operations in the area. Till the time of writing the news, the cause of the fire has not been known yet. During this time, police officers also reached the spot to control the crowd.
