Indigo Cancellation Crisis has put passengers across the country in a lot of trouble in recent times. A large number of IndiGo flights were suddenly cancelled, forcing lakhs of people to postpone their travels. This was the first time that flight cancellations were seen on such a large scale. Now this whole matter is not only being seen as a technical problem but also under the ambit of doubt.

Fear of pressure regarding DGCA rules
According to sources, this crisis may be related to the new rules of Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL). It is being said that Indigo was trying to put pressure on the Aviation Ministry and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). However, IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers has already clarified these allegations, while Chairman Vikram Mehta has released a video calling the allegations baseless.

The second phase of FDTL was already decided
Investigation has revealed that airlines were given sufficient time to implement the second phase of FDTL. All airlines including Indigo were aware that the new phase would be implemented from November 1. DGCA had discussed compliance in several meetings before and after November. In these meetings, Indigo said that it is following the rules and there is no problem.

The issue was not raised even in the meeting on December 1
Importantly, even in the meeting held with DGCA on December 1, IndiGo did not make any mention of the shortage of pilots or cabin crew. Airlines were operating normally in the month of November and DGCA was keeping an eye on average cancellations.

Stopping hiring became a big mistake
Now it is coming to light that Indigo had stopped the hiring process, which is being considered a big mistake. The shortage of pilots had a direct impact on the operation. The question is also being raised that when there was a shortage of crew, why were the passengers told that the flights would operate. Because of this, during the Indigo Cancellation Crisis, passengers had to face hours of waiting and immense confusion.
