WPL 2026: The drama is at its peak in the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League. The controversy over the wicket of Lizelle Lee in the match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians played last night has sparked debate on social media. Dissatisfied with the umpire’s decision, Liezel Lee not only stayed on the field, but also went to the umpire and lodged her strong protest.

What was that ‘controversial’ decision?
This incident happened in the 11th over of Delhi’s innings when Lizelle Lee was playing after scoring 46 runs. Amanjot Kaur bowled the ball on the leg side, which Lee tried to flick but lost her balance. Mumbai wicketkeeper Rahila Firdous performed the stumping with lightning speed.

The umpire handed over the decision to the third umpire. The third umpire took more than 5 minutes to look at different angles and stump cameras. Ultimately it was found that Lee’s bat was in the air when the bails fell. Liesel Lee did not agree with this decision at all. He started arguing with the umpire at the crease itself.

‘Dhakad’ player clashed with umpire
As soon as the verdict appeared on the screen, Lizelle Lee burst out in anger. Instead of leaving the crease, he turned towards the umpire. In the video, Lizelle Lee was seen telling the umpire that the ball was too low and missing the stumps. She did not leave the field for a long time and kept arguing with the umpire. In the end he had to be calmed down and sent towards the pavilion. What does the rule say? According to ICC and WPL rules, expressing dissatisfaction with the umpire’s decision is considered a violation of the code of conduct. In the match, Lee played an inning of 46 runs in 28 balls.
