Police informed on Saturday that the deceased has been identified as Sukhdev Singh (30), who was a teacher by profession and ran IELTS coaching classes.
According to the police, Sukhdev Singh was visiting the house of retired CISF sub-inspector Puran Singh. Additional SP Vikram Dahiya said that in the initial investigation the matter seems to be related to money transactions. However, the relatives of the deceased are linking this incident to a love affair. Investigation is being done from both the angles.
The deceased’s father Harjinder Singh alleged that Puran Singh suspected that his son was having an affair with his daughter. Due to this suspicion, he called Sukhdev home and got him murdered. At the same time, accused Puran Singh claims that Sukhdev took out his revolver in anger and fired. During this, a bullet hit his wife Gurmeet Kaur, while later Sukhdev shot himself.
Police investigation has revealed that a bullet passed through Sukhdev’s chest and hit the wall. The revolver used in the incident has been confiscated. The injured woman has been admitted to the hospital, where her treatment is ongoing.
On the complaint of the deceased’s father, a case of murder has been registered against Puran Singh and his wife.
