YavatmalIs it possible that only 1500 people live in a village, but 27 thousand children are born there in 3 months? Recently, a similar case has come to light from Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, after which there has been a stir, According to the information, the officials were surprised when 27,398 cases of birth registration were reported in just 3 months in a village with a population of 1,500, Authorities have launched an investigation amid fears of large-scale cyber fraud, officials said on Friday,
A release issued by the District Information Officer said that the anomaly came to light during a vigilance campaign by the Health Department. Officials said that following the recent order by the Maharashtra government to investigate illegal and late birth-death registration cancellations, the department had launched a program to examine the records between September and November.
During this time, the data recorded in the birth-death registration system of Shendursani Gram Panchayat of Arni Taluka surprised him. Information officials reported that more than 27,000 births were registered in the three-month period. Considering such a large number of records irregularities as a serious matter, an inquiry committee was formed.
The investigation concluded that out of 27,398 birth records, 27,397 and 7 death records do not belong to that Panchayat area and are doubtful and it is impossible to register such a large number through the Gram Panchayat. After this the matter was sent to the Deputy Director of Health Services, Pune for technical investigation. After this it came to light that the CRS (Civil Registration System) ID of Shendursani Gram Panchayat was mapped to Mumbai. According to a technical investigation report received on December 11, these records come under the scope of possibility of cyber fraud and a case has been registered in this regard at Yavatmal City Police Station.
