Chandigarh/Punjab. Security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab have increased vigilance after suspicious IEDs were found at different places. After both the incidents, traffic was stopped by cordoning off the areas and bomb disposal squads defused the explosives. First of all, there was a stir in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday when a suspected IED was found on the Ganderbal-Safapora road. According to officials, security forces immediately cordoned off the area and stopped traffic as a precautionary measure.

The bomb disposal squad reached the spot and destroyed it safely. Militants in the valley have often tried to plant IEDs on roadsides to target convoys of VIPs, army, police and security forces. In view of this danger, the army and paramilitary forces regularly patrol the routes in the morning. IEDs are also considered a big challenge for security forces globally. These can be made from common industrial chemicals or electronic components, making them difficult to detect. Their size can range from small packets to large vehicle-based explosives.

On the other hand, an IED kept in a bag was recovered near a police post in Raiya area of ​​Amritsar rural area of ​​Punjab. Suhail Qasim Mir said that the police immediately sealed the area and defused the explosive with the help of the bomb disposal squad. Security has been tightened in the area and nearby CCTV footage is being scrutinized. Till now no organization has taken responsibility, while the police is busy identifying the suspects and further investigation.
