Lucknow. On Sunday, fog fell on the people struggling with the cold wave in UP. There was dense fog in 17 cities on Sunday. In eight of these, visibility reached zero. As a result there was a spate of road accidents. On Sunday, 20 people died in separate road accidents due to low visibility. Of these, 9 people died in Awadh region, 5 in Moradabad division, two in Azamgarh, two in Roza, one each in Bulandshahr and Bareilly. The fog is likely to reduce after January 20.
Three people lost their lives in three accidents in Bahraich. Two girl students, who were going to the market on a bike, were crushed by a tractor trolley laden with soil on the track of Sharda Sahayak Block 16 canal of Gosaiganj police station area of Sultanpur, due to which two girl students died. Two youths died in a collision between a bus and a car in Amethi. Pickup driver died in a bus-pickup collision at Akelwa intersection in Fursatganj. An elderly man lost his life in Rae Bareli.
Passenger died in collision between bus, car and Innova on Gonda-Bahraich road in Barabanki. Two died after four vehicles collided in Azamgarh. Truck crushed bike-tempo in Roza, brother-in-law and brother-in-law died in the accident. Scooty rider lost his life after falling into a drain in fog in Bulandshahr. Five people, including a father and son, died in road accidents in Moradabad division. In Shahzadnagar, Rampur, a tempo crushed a father, son and nephew riding a bike. 17 vehicles collided near Gajraula-Mundhapande. The car fell into a ditch in Amroha. The woman died in the accident. A laborer lost his life when his pickup overturned. 25 vehicles collided with each other on the National Highway in Bareilly. Roadways bus driver died in the accident, 26 people were injured.
Chances of rain and snowfall in the mountains from today
The effect of severe cold continues in North, West and Northeast India. The mercury remains below zero in the Himalayan states, and dense fog in the morning and evening in the plains is increasing the problem. There are chances of rain and snow in the hilly states in the next few days. Fog will persist in states like UP-Bihar etc. Cold wave prevailed in eastern UP.
