On the basis of Harleen Deol’s match-winning half-century, UP Warriors opened the winning account in the WPL 2026 points table. In the match against Mumbai Indians on Thursday, January 15, UP registered a spectacular victory by 7 wickets. Harleen Deol played an important role in UP’s victory, who was called back after being retired in the last match. This time Harleen played an unbeaten inning of 64 runs with the help of 12 fours in 39 balls. Mumbai had set a target of 161 runs for UP, this score was easily achieved by UP with 11 balls remaining. Harleen was awarded the Player of the Match award.

Namibia needs 126 runs from 66 balls at an average of 11.45 per over.

This victory of UP Warriors did not have much impact on the WPL 2026 points table, but the problems of Mumbai Indians have definitely increased. Actually, this is MI’s second defeat of the season. However, Mumbai still remains at the second position in the points table. While the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore led by Smriti Mandhana, riding on the victory chariot, remains at the first position. RCB has played two matches so far and with two consecutive wins, Bengaluru is at number-1 position. Natalie Sciver Brunt (65 runs, two wickets), playing in her familiar style, scored a quick half-century, with the help of which Mumbai Indians scored 161 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Harleen was retired out despite good batting on Wednesday, she hit 12 fours in her 39-ball innings and along with Chloe Tryon (27 not out) took the team to 162 runs for three wickets in 18.1 overs, due to which the UP Warriors team managed to register its first win in the fourth match after three consecutive defeats. This was the second defeat of Mumbai Indians in four matches. Harleen hit the shots as per her wish which included three fours in one over of Shabnim Ismail. This Indian batsman completed his half-century by taking one run with a sweep shot on off-spinner Sanskriti Gupta in the 15th over. Harleen hit two more fours in the same over, leaving the team needing 29 runs in 24 balls. Harleen along with Tryon ensured the win without any problems. However, trouble continued for UP Warriors at the top order with captain Meg Lanning (25 runs) and Kiran Navgire (10 runs) not getting off to a fast start. Due to this, UP Warriors’ score in seven overs was 50 runs for two wickets. But the target was not so big due to which Harleen played steadfastly and gave the team the taste of its first victory.
