Priyanka Gandhi Prashant Kishor Meeting: has once again intensified the stir in political circles. About a month after the crushing defeat in Bihar assembly elections, Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore met Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. While Congress got only 6 seats in this election, even the security deposit of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party was forfeited. In such a situation, this meeting is raising many political questions.
It is being told that this meeting between Priyanka Gandhi and Prashant Kishore lasted for about two hours. Both sides are calling it a courtesy call, but political experts are linking it to the upcoming assembly elections. Elections are to be held in West Bengal next year, while assembly elections are proposed in Uttar Pradesh in 2027. In such a situation, it is believed that this meeting could also be an attempt to explore future political possibilities. It is a common saying in politics that there are no permanent friends nor permanent enemies, and the same seems to be applicable to this meeting as well.
Actually, the relationship between Prashant Kishore and Gandhi family is not new. After separating from JDU in 2021, Prashant Kishore had proposed to the Congress leadership to reorganize the party. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Prashant Kishore attended the meeting held at Sonia Gandhi’s residence in April 2022. During that time, Prashant Kishor was said to be ready to join Congress, but he was offered ‘Empowered Action Group’.
However, Prashant Kishore rejected this proposal, after which the distance between the two kept increasing. Even during Bihar elections, he had expressed disagreement with Rahul Gandhi on issues like ‘vote theft’ and SIR.
