New Delhi. Once again cable thieves have affected the system in Delhi Metro. The 9.9 km long new corridor between Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi just a few days ago, saw signaling cables stolen. This caused a brake on the speed of the metro. The police have arrested a suspect in this case. Anuj Dayal, principal executive director of DMRC’s corporate communication department, said the signaling system was disrupted due to cable theft. Trains ran at a limited speed of 25 kmph in the affected section between Bhalswa and Majlis Park metro stations. Dayal said that train service continues to run during peak hours, hence it is not possible to install signaling cables during that time. To reduce the inconvenience to passengers, the repair work was started after the metro services were closed on Thursday night.
