New Delhi. Due to continuous cancellation of Indigo Airlines flights in the country, the problems of passengers are increasing. In view of this situation, Indian Railways has taken a very decisive step to provide relief. Keeping in mind the increasing demand of passengers, Railways has not only added additional coaches on many routes, but has also decided to run four special trains, so that passengers do not face any problem in reaching their destination. Due to operational problems in IndiGo for the last few days, a large number of flights are being canceled and many flights are running late by hours. On December 5 alone, more than 1000 flights were canceled across the country. Because of this, huge pressure of passengers has now come on the Railways.

Railways added extra coaches in 37 trains

Issuing an official statement, Railways has said that in view of the increasing crowd of passengers, 116 additional coaches have been installed in 37 premium trains across the country. With this, 114 extra trips will be run, which will increase the availability of seats. Southern Railway has added the maximum number of coaches, in which the capacity has been increased in 18 trains. Whereas Northern Railway has increased 8, Western Railway 4 and East Central Railway has also increased 2 AC coaches on Rajendranagar-New Delhi route. East Coast, Eastern and Northeast Frontier Railway has also eased travel convenience for passengers by adding sleeper and AC coaches in many trips.

Four special trains will operate

Railways has also given information about the operation of four special trains. These include Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Special, New Delhi-Mumbai Central Special, Vande Bharat Special for Jammu region and Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Special. These services are being run on different dates from December 6, so that the affected passengers can get safe and smooth travel.

Sabarmati will make four rounds

Keeping in view the need of passengers, Western Railway has also announced to run Sabarmati-Delhi Junction Superfast Special Train (09497/09498) between Ahmedabad and Delhi. This train will make a total of four trips and will stop at many major stations including Jaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Gurgaon on the way. Its booking has started from 6th December. The Railway Ministry says that all this arrangement is to provide reliable options to the people in the sudden travel crisis. Railways has also made available all the travel and coach related information on the website, so that passengers can get correct information on time.
