Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi believes that a year of hard work, introspection and working on maintaining control over the length of his bowling improved his performance and helped him earn a place in the national team. Bishnoi did not perform well in the last IPL. After this, Lucknow Super Giants released him but in the last auction, Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 7.20 crore. Bishnoi, who performed brilliantly in the third T20 International against New Zealand, told reporters after the match, “In the last one year, I have worked on my length because my performance in the last IPL season was not that good. Last season, I didn’t have much control over my line and length. He said, “But I tried my best to bowl at a length of 5-6 meters on the stumps, because it is difficult to hit a ball bowled at that length.” The 25-year-old leg spinner had earlier played his last match for India against England in February last year. He was not included in the team for the T20 series against New Zealand. He got a place in the team only after the injury to spin all-rounder Washington Sundar. Bishnoi took full advantage of the opportunity in the third T20 International and took two wickets for 18 runs in four overs. He said, “It is very difficult when you are out of the team. This Indian team is very strong and it is not easy to make a place in it. So you get limited opportunities. It is good for me that I got a chance to work on my bowling. I performed well in domestic cricket and that helped me make a comeback. Bishnoi said, “T20 matches are always difficult for a bowler. Jassi bhai (Bumrah) bowled well, Hardik bhai (Pandya) bowled well, Harshit (Rana) also took wickets early. If we take two-three wickets in the beginning, it becomes difficult for the batting team. He admitted that when he got the chance to play in this match, he was a little nervous at first. Bishnoi said, “I got the opportunity today and initially I was a little nervous but at the same time excited. Whenever you get a chance, you have to perform well, so there is both nervousness and excitement. He said, “I tried to bowl a good length. If the ball falls at that length at a good pace then it is very difficult to hit a shot. It is not that I have to bowl at more than 100 kmph or less than 100 kmph. I bowl as per my feeling that day.
