
Heavy Rain Alert: Amidst the intense heat of summer, due to the influence of western disturbance, the weather of many states including the country’s capital Delhi and Rajasthan has changed once again on Friday. The period of rain and strong winds has started in the north-eastern states. For the next four days, there will be rain and thunderstorms along with strong winds in most parts of the North-West, Central and North-East of the country.
Possibility of thunderstorm in UP-Bihar from 14 to 17 March
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain and strong winds in different parts from March 14 to 17. On Friday, there has been partial relief from heat wave and heat due to cloudy sky in Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The temperature in the plains of North-West India has dropped by 3-5 degrees Celsius and in the Western Himalayas by 4-6 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rain in Northeast till March 16
According to IMD, on Friday, light to moderate rain with lightning was recorded in the northern areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal and light snowfall and rain in the Himalayan range of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in the northeastern states till March 16.
Snowfall in hilly areas of Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand
From Saturday, there will be sporadic to widespread rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal and Uttarakhand in North-West India. From Saturday to Monday, there is a possibility of sporadic rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in many parts of Rajasthan, Delhi and Punjab and in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and hailstorm at some places.
