New Delhi. There was panic at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in the early hours of Monday when an airline flight coming from Amsterdam received a bomb threat. This threat was received through email at around 12 o’clock on Sunday night, when the plane was preparing for landing. As soon as information about the threat was received, the airport administration and security agencies were alerted. The flight made a safe landing at around 1 am, after which it was taken to an isolated bay away from the main terminal.
CISF, bomb disposal squad and sniffer dog squad thoroughly inspected the aircraft, passengers’ luggage and cargo hold. According to officials, no suspicious object was found after the search. After this the bomb threat turned out to be fake. This incident is part of a series of bomb threats received at Hyderabad Airport in December 2025. In the last one month, many international and domestic flights have faced such threats, causing a lot of trouble to the passengers.
According to the information, in the beginning of December, Indigo flights coming from Kuwait and Medina to Hyderabad had to be diverted to Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Apart from this, flights of Emirates, Air India, British Airways, Lufthansa and Kuwait Airways also received threats. In many cases, planes were turned back midway or landed under strict surveillance. On December 9, a threat was received demanding one million dollars for an American flight, after which a high alert was issued at all international terminals. These fake threats being received continuously have increased the concern of the airport administration and security agencies.
