PuneMaharashtra Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday questioned top officials of VSR Ventures. The plane of this company was the victim of an accident in Baramati, in which Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar lost his life. A CID officer has given information about this action. However, the investigation is still ongoing, so he did not provide further details.

What is the matter?

On January 28, VSR Ventures’ Learjet 45 aircraft crashed near Baramati air strip in Pune district. Ajit Pawar and four others had died in this tragic incident. After the accident, a case was registered at Baramati Taluka Police Station. Later the investigation of this case was handed over to Pune CID. The investigating agency is investigating whether there was any conspiracy behind the accident or whether it is a case of criminal negligence. According to sources, CID had also sent a list of some questions to the company in this regard. Now political rhetoric is also intensifying in this matter. NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar on Wednesday alleged that someone was trying to save VSR Ventures. He claimed that the preliminary report of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has proved his suspicions correct.

What’s in the AAIB report?

The 22-page report of AAIB states that visibility was very low at the time of the accident. The report also mentions blurred markings and loose gravel on the runway. At the same time, Ajit Pawar’s son Jai Pawar has shared a video on social media. It has been alleged that company owner Rohit Singh was sleeping on the pilot’s seat during the flight. Jai Pawar has demanded immediate arrest of Rohit Singh. He also said that until the investigation is completed, flights of all VSR Ventures aircraft should be banned.
