Bengaluru. The Karnataka government is embroiled in controversy after the demolition of more than 400 houses in Bengaluru. Due to which hundreds of people, mostly from the Muslim community, have become homeless. The massive eviction action, which took place earlier this week, has sparked a fierce war of words between the ruling Congress and the Kerala Left Front unit.
According to the information, on December 22 at 4 am, Fakir Colony and Wasim Layout in Kogilu village were vandalized. Due to which about 400 families became homeless. This action was taken at a time when the city is experiencing the worst cold of the year. Four JCBs and more than 150 policemen were involved in the operation conducted by Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited.

People came out to protest against the action
In the case, the Karnataka government said that these houses were built illegally on government land on the banks of a lake near Urdu Government School. However, residents claimed that they had not received any notice in advance. The police forcefully evicted them. Due to this, hundreds of people have to spend nights on the roads and under temporary shelters in the extreme cold. Some residents have been quoted as saying that they have been living in this area for 25 years and have valid Aadhar cards and voter IDs. Most of the evicted people are migrants and work as labourers. This issue has now become a big controversy for the Congress government. People have come out in protest against this action and are demonstrating.
