IND vs NZ 3rd ODI: India has won the toss and decided to bowl first in the final and deciding match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. India has made a major change in its playing eleven. Arshdeep Singh was brought into the team in place of fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, while no changes have been made in the New Zealand team.

After winning the toss, Indian captain Shubman Gill said, ‘We had talked about this (the decision to bowl). Last time, New Zealand had put pressure on us by batting first. One reason behind bowling first is that the pitch is looking good, there is not much expectation of dew, and with runs on the board, we will be able to chase better.

New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell said, ‘We would have also bowled first, but it looks like a good batting pitch. This is a decider match and an exciting opportunity for us to win our first ODI series in India. Talking about the new players in his team, he said, ‘They are getting used to international cricket and till now they have performed well, but now there is pressure and this is a good opportunity for them to show their best game.’

There is a lot at stake in this match. While Gill has a chance to win his first ODI series as captain, New Zealand has a golden opportunity to win the ODI series for the first time in India. So far New Zealand has played 7 ODI series in India and they have faced defeat in all seven.

In the first match of the series played in Vadodara, India won by 4 wickets by chasing a huge target of 300 runs, while in the second match played in Rajkot, New Zealand made a great comeback by chasing 284 runs and won by seven wickets. Due to which the series became equal to one each.
