On Sunday, the temperature in Sonamarg Valley was minus 8.9 degrees, Srinagar was minus 4.7 degrees, Shopian was minus 6.7 degrees and Pahalgam was minus 6 degrees. Snowfall occurred in the high hills of Himachal Pradesh. The temperature in Hamirpur was 2.1 degrees, Una was 2.7 degrees and Mandi was 3.9 degrees. Here, the temperature in Amritsar, Punjab was 1.7 degrees. In the northern plain states, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Haryana, UP are affected by cold. There is dense fog in these areas. Visibility is zero in Halwara, Punjab since morning. At the same time, the weather has suddenly changed in UP. It rained in many cities including Lucknow-Barabanki on Monday morning. Hail has fallen in Aligarh.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of two consecutive western disturbances in the western Himalayan region. Due to this, the weather may worsen in 9 states and union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh from January 23. Western Disturbance is a system of wind and clouds coming from the west, due to its activation there will be snowfall in the hilly areas and rain in the plains. There will be a drop in temperature, and conditions of frost and cold wave may also arise.
