
An incident of stone pelting has come to light during the Shivaji Jayanti procession in Bagalkot, Karnataka. After this, in view of the tense situation, the administration has imposed prohibitory orders in the area. Officials said a tense situation had arisen for some time after alleged stone pelting during the Shivaji Jayanti procession. He said that the incident took place in the old city on Thursday when the procession which started at around 3:30 pm was passing through the mosque area.
SP confirmed stone pelting
In the matter, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Goyal said that adequate forces were deployed for the procession. He said, ‘We were all present at the spot. The procession started around 3:30 pm yesterday. As soon as it reached near the mosque, two stones were thrown towards us from distance. According to the SP, based on preliminary information and video received so far by the police, one stone hit a policeman while the other fell on his shoulder. He said, ‘No one was seriously injured. After this the procession continued smoothly and the atmosphere remained peaceful.
There is also news of conflict between people of two religions in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. According to reports, people from two groups raised slogans against each other during the procession. At present the situation is said to be under control at both the places.
Religious tension in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh
Before these two incidents in South India, tension broke out on religious issue late Thursday night in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. According to reports from Jabalpur, tension arose after alleged vandalism in a temple in Siroh. To control the tension arising out of violent clash and stone pelting between the two parties here, the police also detained 15 people. At present the situation is sensitive and a large number of Madhya Pradesh Police personnel have been deployed at the spot.
