New Delhi. On the controversy of adulterated Ghee in Laddu Prasad in Tirupati, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman BR Naidu said that the news of giving clean chit in this matter is false. He told that this is being spread only to confuse the devotees. Naidu said that the sentiments of Hindus were hurt by distributing such adulterated prasad in the holy temple, and no one has been given a clean chit.

While talking to the media, Naidu told
BR Naidu said that adulterated ghee was used in Laddu Prasad during the YSRCP government. Now confusion is being spread among the people that a clean chit has been given in this case, which is completely wrong. It is clearly written in the charge sheet of the SIT that adulterated ghee was used in the laddus and this was done to benefit some companies. He said that the previous government violated contract rules and gave contracts to companies that were not eligible.

gross negligence in awarding the contract
Naidu said that the contract was given to a company which did not have cows, had no means of milk production and did not even have the capacity to make pure ghee. After this, TTD purchased 60 lakh kg of ghee from the company, which was worth Rs 250 crore. Investigation by the National Dairy Development Board revealed that animal fat was used in this ghee. Naidu said that around 20 crore Shrivari Laddu were made from this ghee, and this is the biggest case of adulteration in the country.

What did SIT say?
The SIT filed its final chargesheet in the court and said that there was no mention of animal fat in it. After this, YSRCP accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan that both of them are playing with the sentiments of Hindus. The charge sheet said that palm oil, palm kernel oil and chemical additives were used to make ghee, but there was no mention of animal fat.

CM Naidu’s allegations
In September 2024, Chandrababu Naidu had alleged that during the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, ghee containing animal fat was used in making Tirupati laddus. After this controversy, the Supreme Court formed SIT. In this case, Pomil Jain and Vipin Jain, directors of Bhole Baba Organic Dairy of Uttarakhand, were also made accused. TDP says that the SIT charge sheet clearly states that the ghee was adulterated and not even a single drop of pure ghee was used in it.
