Imphal. The Manipur government has handed over the investigation into the two consecutive blasts in Bishnupur district to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Two people, including a woman, were injured in the blast that took place on Monday. These blasts were carried out with locally made improvised explosive device (IED). Senior police officials, including the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Superintendent of Police of Bishnupur district, visited the blast sites to take stock of the situation. The search operation continued in the surrounding areas for the second consecutive day on Tuesday to nab the culprits involved in the incident. The family of this house is currently living in a relief camp in Keibul Lamjao since the ethnic violence started in Manipur in May 2023. When the villagers gathered at the spot after the first blast, a second blast took place at 8:45 pm, about 200 meters away. Two people were injured in this blast.
