Former Indian cricketer WV Raman has praised legendary batsman Virat Kohli’s passion and commitment towards the game. He said that this batsman will keep playing as long as he enjoys and performs on the field. 37 year old Kohli is in great form. He recently scored 93 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand as India registered a thrilling win by four wickets. He was adjudged player of the match in Vadodara. Kohli has retired from Test and T20 International cricket. He now plays only ODI cricket for the Indian team.
‘Virat Kohli is also no different in this matter’
Raman said on his YouTube channel, “Such cricketers usually take decisions based on how they feel when they wake up in the morning. Virat Kohli is no different in this case. He will keep playing as long as he is enjoying the game and scoring runs. And until he does justice to his reputation and the legacy that he has built over the years.” Kohli became the second highest run scorer in T20 International cricket behind Sachin Tendulkar (34357) in Vadodara ODI. He broke the record of former Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara (28016).
Kohli is giving this message to his critics
Kohli has played 557 international matches so far, with an excellent average of 52.66. He has scored a total of 84 centuries and 146 half-centuries. Raman, former head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team, praised Kohli’s consistent dominance and said that he keeps silencing his critics and will leave the game only on his own terms. He further said, “Kohli is sending a message to his critics that he will stay in the times to come and will leave the stage only when he feels comfortable. And this is absolutely right because he knows what it takes to stay on top of the game at the international level.”
