Patna. With the beginning of the new year, changes are being made in many important facilities and rules related to the common people. These changes will have a direct impact on Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank accounts and ration system. The government and concerned departments say that the purpose of these changes is to increase transparency, prevent fraud and strengthen the digital system. In such a situation, it is important that the common people understand these new rules in time, so that they do not have to face any kind of problem in future. The biggest change has been made regarding the update of mobile number linked to Aadhar card. Now only the mobile number in Aadhar card can be updated which is linked to the SIM registered in the name of the same person. That is, if an attempt is made to update the mobile number in the name of any other person in Aadhaar, then that application will be rejected. Till now people used to get Aadhaar updated using the number of any acquaintance or family member, but after the new rule this will not be possible. It has been made mandatory that the mobile number given while making or updating Aadhaar card should be in the name of the same person. Clear instructions have been issued to all Aadhaar Seva Centers in this regard. More than 10 thousand people visit Aadhaar centers every day to update their mobile numbers. In such a situation, people are being made aware about the new rules, so that they go to the Aadhaar center only with the correct documents and the mobile number in their name. The government believes that this will curb incidents of fraud and wrong updates related to Aadhaar. Similarly, the strictness regarding linking of Aadhaar and PAN card has also been increased. If Aadhaar is not linked to PAN by December 31, the PAN card will be deactivated. After deactivation of PAN, there can be serious problems in filing income tax returns, many bank related financial transactions and other important tasks. Apart from this, a fine of up to Rs 1000 will also have to be paid for reactivating PAN. In such a situation, those who have not yet linked Aadhaar-PAN should complete this process as soon as possible. Major changes in the rules related to bank accounts are also being implemented from January. Till now many people used to manage by registering someone else’s mobile number in their bank account. But from the new year, it has been made mandatory for new account holders to provide the same mobile number in their bank account, which is registered in the name of the account holder. Along with this, the mobile numbers of old account holders will also be updated in a phased manner. Now the mobile number linked to the bank account will be completely account holder based. For this, coordination is being done between the Department of Telecommunications and banks. Those who want to open a new account, it will be mandatory for them to provide the mobile number in their name.
Apart from this, changes have also been made in the ration system from the new year. Under the National Food Security Act, there will be a change in the quantity of food grains available through the Public Distribution System (PDS) from January. Now every beneficiary family will be given 14 kg wheat and 21 kg rice. Earlier, each family used to get 7 kg wheat and 28 kg rice. The aim of this change is to balance the nutritional needs of families and improve grain distribution.
