T20 cricket is usually known for long sixes, fast runs and accurate yorkers, but in the 2025 International League T20 (ILT20), West Indies’ experienced all-rounder Jason Holder did something that left the fans laughing. While playing for Dubai Capitals, one of Holder’s balls deviated so much that it passed the batsman and went straight towards fourth slip. Even Andre Russell, who was fielding in the slip, could not stop laughing.
ball slipped from hand
Holder came up with the run-up and tried to bowl a normal fast ball, but the ball slipped from his hand at the release point. The result was that the ball not only dodged the batsman but also traveled halfway between the wicket and the wicketkeeper. The ball reached exactly the place where the fourth slip fielder stands in Test cricket.
fans laughed
There is generally not such aggressive slip fielding in T20, so there was no fielder present there. As soon as the video of this strange delivery surfaced on social media, fans went crazy laughing. Many users called it a glitch in the system, while some jokingly said that Holder was preparing for a Test match in T20.
Even the commentators are surprised
Jason Holder did not react much after this entire incident. He returned to his mark without any hesitation and started preparing to bowl the next ball. It was a surprise for both fans and commentators to see such a ball from Holder, known for his height, control and accuracy.
ILT20 also shared
Interestingly, the official social media account of ILT20 also shared this video. The clip went viral in no time and was described as one of the strangest balls in recent years. The umpire also signaled no ball and the batsman got a free hit.
