Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has spewed venom against India while targeting the International Cricket Council (ICC). He alleged that the ICC has become helpless in front of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the purpose of the global sporting body is at stake. Ajmal says that if ICC does not have the strength to take decisions impartially then it should be closed down. He took on the ICC because India has been refusing to play in Pakistan for a long time due to security concerns. Pakistan hosted the ICC Champions Trophy last year but India played its matches in Dubai.
‘ICC should be closed because…
“The ICC should take a fair decision,” Ajmal told reporters at a function in Karachi. There should be honest cricket, no matter which country it is in. Pakistan is absolutely safe. Many teams are coming to Pakistan and playing. What pain is there for India that it does not want to come? What politics are they doing, who do not want to play with Pakistan? Okay then ICC should be closed. If ICC cannot cover India then there is no ICC. If a fair decision is taken then the result will be what Pakistan and other teams want. All teams cannot run on one country. We will have to take everyone equally.”
Last series played in 2012-13
Let us tell you that India played the last bilateral series against Pakistan in the year 2012-13. The Indian team played its last match in Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2008. The two arch-rivals teams meet only in multi-nation tournaments. Cricket matches are often shifted to neutral venues to ensure participation and broadcast certainty between India and Pakistan. India is the joint host of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan team will play all its matches in the upcoming ICC event on Sri Lankan soil. India and Pakistan will play the match on 15 February.
