IND vs NZ T20 Series: Just before the start, the Indian cricket team has suffered a big setback. Before the five-match T20 series against New Zealand, important changes had to be made in the team due to injuries. The selectors have included experienced batsman Shreyas Iyer and young leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi in the team, trying to maintain balance.
The biggest reason for this change is the injury to Washington Sundar and Tilak Verma. Sundar suffered a side strain while bowling during the first ODI against New Zealand. After the medical report, he was ruled out of the entire T20 series. At the same time, young batsman Tilak Verma had to undergo surgery after complaining of pain in the lower stomach. He will not be available for the first three T20 matches.
Shreyas Iyer’s return is the most talked about thing in the IND vs NZ T20 series. Iyer last played a T20 match against Australia in December 2023. After this, he performed brilliantly while captaining Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. Iyer won the trust of the selectors by scoring 604 runs in 17 matches at a strike rate of 175. He has been included in the team for the first three T20 matches in place of Tilak Verma, which is expected to strengthen the middle order.
Apart from this, the entry of Ravi Bishnoi will give edge to the bowling attack. His leg spin can prove important for the team on fast wickets. Overall, these changes made before the IND vs NZ T20 Series are considered to be an attempt to strengthen Team India in challenging conditions.
