Seychelles President Patrick Herminy arrived in Chennai on Thursday on his first visit to India. His visit coincides with the celebration of fifty years of strong diplomatic relations with the country. On arrival at the airport, state Adi Dravidian Welfare Minister M. Mathivendhan, Chennai Mayor R. Priya and senior officials welcomed him warmly.

During his five-day visit he will meet Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. While in Mumbai, he will meet Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devrat. At the same time, he will discuss issues of mutual interest at bilateral, regional and international levels with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
