
There was panic at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Saturday morning after a bomb threat was received on Shillong-bound IndiGo flight 6E 7304. Before passengers could board the plane, a handwritten note was found inside the lavatory, claiming that there was a bomb on board.
The plane was sent to the isolation bay
According to the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the note was spotted by a crew member in the morning, after which security agencies were immediately alerted. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft was taken to the isolation bay and all safety measures were taken as per standard operating procedure.
Search of plane continues
Officials said the bomb disposal squad and security agencies are conducting a thorough search of the plane. No suspicious object has been recovered in the investigation so far. At present, security checks are going on and all necessary precautions are being taken keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.
