New Delhi. A Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Thursday night. In this tragic accident, two brave Air Force officers, Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Durgakar have died. The Air Force officially confirmed the damage, saying the plane was on a routine training mission when the accident occurred. Earlier the plane had disappeared from radar.
According to the incident, this two-seat fighter aircraft had taken off from Jorhat in Assam.

The aircraft was last contacted by radar and control room at around 7.42 pm on Thursday, March 5. After this the plane suddenly disappeared, causing panic in the Air Force. The official information about the disappearance of the plane was shared at around 9.34 pm, immediately after which a massive search and rescue operation was launched. After strenuous efforts, the Air Force found the wreckage of the aircraft in the inaccessible area of ​​Karbi Anglong, about 60 km from Jorhat. Investigation revealed that the plane had crashed and both the pilots on board had suffered fatal injuries, due to which they could not be saved. This aircraft manufactured by the Russian company Sukhoi is considered to be a very powerful and modern aircraft of the Indian Air Force fleet. The Indian Air Force has expressed deep condolences to the martyred pilots through its social media handle. The Air Force said that the entire military family stands strongly with the bereaved families in this difficult time. At present, the process of detailed investigation has been started to find out the cause of the accident. This accident is a major defense loss for the country, which has plunged the entire military community into mourning.
