Canada’s team has been announced for the T20 World Cup 2026, which is going to play the T20 World Cup for the second time. Dilpreet Bajwa will be the captain of the Canadian team in this mega event. The board has announced a 15-member team for the mega event to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Bajwa will turn 23 at the end of this month. He has experience of only nine ODI and 17 T20I matches. The surprising thing is that he will make his captaincy debut in international cricket from this tournament. Dilpreet Bajwa has scored four half-centuries in T20 International cricket and his strike rate is more than 133. He had a strong performance in Canada’s Super 60 T10 tournament, scoring 57 runs in 18 balls in one match and 68 runs in 22 balls in another match. Opening batsman Yuvraj Samra is also another big power hitter, having hit 27 sixes in 15 T20I innings at a strike rate of 160.72. Former captain Saad Bin Zafar, Kaleem Sana, Dilon Helliger, Nicholas Kirton and Navneet Dhaliwal are other well-known names in the team. The Canadian team is part of Group D in the T20 World Cup 2026, which includes South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and UAE. On February 9, the Canadian team will play its first match in the tournament against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All the group phase matches of the Canadian team will be played in India. The Canadian team also played in the T20 World Cup 2024, where they defeated Ireland.
