New Delhi. A passenger has made serious allegations against the pilot of Air India Express at Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport. A passenger named Ankit Dewan has claimed that pilot Captain Virendra not only misbehaved with him but also physically attacked him, due to which he bled to death. This matter has gained momentum after videos and pictures surfaced on social media. The victim passenger says that the incident ruined his entire holiday and his family, especially his 7-year-old daughter, is still in shock.

After this incident, Air India Express issued a statement and expressed regret. Along with this, the accused pilot was removed from duty with immediate effect.
What did the victim passenger allege?
The passenger wrote in a social media post – I and my family were asked to go to the line for security check, which is used by the staff because we had a 4-month-old baby in a stroller with us. The staff was breaking the line in front of me. When I interrupted, Captain Virendra got angry and asked me are you illiterate and can’t you read the sign on which it is written that this entry is for staff.
After this there was an altercation and the pilot attacked me, due to which I bled. The blood on the pilot’s shirt is also mine. My holidays were ruined. My 7 year old daughter saw her father being beaten brutally. She is still in shock and scared.

After the incident came to light, Air India Express has expressed regret over the behavior of its pilot and issued an official statement. The airline has said that the accused employee has been removed from all official responsibilities with immediate effect and the matter is being investigated.
A company spokesperson said in the statement, “We have received information about the incident that took place at Delhi Airport, in which one of our employees was involved.” This employee was traveling as a passenger on a flight of another airline and had an altercation with another passenger. We strongly condemn such behaviour. The concerned employee has been removed from official duty with immediate effect and the matter is being investigated. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. Air India Express expects good conduct and professional behavior from its employees. The company said that we are committed to ensuring that we behave responsibly at all times.
