The visit is taking place on the occasion of completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan. PM Modi said that he will also meet Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
Oman is also an important stop of this tour. Bilateral trade between India and Oman has increased to $10.61 billion in the financial year 2024-25. There is also strong cooperation between the two countries regarding defence, training and joint military exercises. In recent years, the partnership on maritime security in the Indian Ocean region has become stronger.
