Surat The district police has taken strict action against the unethical activities going on under the guise of resorts and farmhouses in Surat Rural. On the instructions of Range IG Premveer Singh and SP Rajesh Gadhiya, the police raided ‘Akshay Resort’ located in the limits of Jothan village of Olpad taluka. During this action, a total of 9 accused including 8 girls from Thailand were arrested from the resort. With this, the police has exposed the black business of international prostitution. Based on concrete information, Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), LCB and Olpad Police conducted a joint operation. The police sent a ‘dummy customer’ and confirmed that foreign girls were being made to perform immoral acts here. As soon as sufficient evidence was found, the police raided the spot and caught 8 girls, customers and operators brought from Thailand red handed. Investigation revealed that resort owner Akshay Kanchanlal Bhandari had provided rooms to chief architect Sunil Yadav on rent of Rs 2,000 per day. The facility of physical relations with foreign girls was provided by charging Rs 2,000 to 8,000 from the customers. This entire network extended from Surat city to Olpad. Police have seized a total of Rs 20.62 lakh worth of valuables in the action.
