BMC Election: Before the municipal elections in Maharashtra politics, two bitterly opposed parties and the Thackeray family have come together that this time they will dominate the Maharashtra municipal elections. But he has got a big blow even before this election. Even before the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, the BJP-led alliance has won 68 municipal seats. That means 68 candidates of Mahayuti have been elected unopposed. Uddhav Thackeray faction’s Shiv Sena has accused the Election Commission of maintaining silence after Mahayuti won unopposed. At present, elections will be held on the remaining seats on January 15.
Let us tell you, out of the 68 seats on which Mahayuti candidates have won unopposed, Eknath Shinde faction’s Shiv Sena has got 22 seats, BJP has got 44 seats and Ajit Pawar’s NCP has got 2 seats. The highest number of people winning unopposed is in Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation of Thane district. Regarding the victory, Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol said that it is the result of public trust and the work of BJP. He even claimed that the next mayor of Pune will be from BJP.
Questions raised on Election Commission
While on one hand BJP leaders counted the good works of the government and declared it a victory for the people, on the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena has made serious allegations against the Election Commission and Mahayuti. Shiv Sena said that Mahayuti forced the opposition candidates to withdraw their nominations through ED-CBI threats and bargaining. MP Priyanka Chaturvedi raised questions on the Election Commission itself.
Elections will be held on January 15
Priyanka Chaturvedi held a press conference in Mumbai after the victory of the unopposed candidates. In which it was said that efforts are being made to destroy democracy. Efforts are made to buy off the opposition candidates by threatening them with CBI and ED and by giving them bribes. But the biggest shame in this is that the Election Commission is also silent on this. Who will be the winner of 29 municipal corporation seats in Maharashtra? This will be decided only after the results come, but till now Mahayuti has taken the lead.
