Rajouri: Some drones were seen near the Line of Control in Nowshera-Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening. They are suspected to be from Pakistan. After this incident, the Indian Army took counter-unmanned aerial system measures. After this these drones went back.

According to reports, on Sunday evening, movement of suspicious drones, suspected to be from Pakistan, was seen in several forward areas near the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Samba, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Quoting security officials, it was said that these flying objects came from the Pakistani side of the border and went back after hovering over the Indian territory for a few minutes. A ground search operation was also launched after suspicious drone activity was spotted. Army soldiers opened fire with medium and light machine guns after seeing drone movement over Ganiya-Kalsian village at around 6:35 pm.

At the same time, another drone was seen in Khabar village in Teriath, Rajouri. Officials said the flying object, which had flashing lights, had come from the direction of Dharamsal village in Kalakot, and then moved towards Bharakh. Another similar object, which had flickering lights, was seen hovering over Chak Babral for several minutes at around 7:15 pm. Another similar thing was seen moving from Tan towards Topa in Mankot sector near LOC in Poonch.

After this incident, Indian Army soldiers also took counter-unmand aerial system measures, due to which they had to return. The Border Security Force (BSF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday launched a joint search operation after a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from near the border in Palura village of Samba district. The cache included a Chinese-made 9 mm pistol with two magazines, a Glock 9 mm pistol with one magazine and a Chinese hand grenade with APL HGR 84 written on it. According to the police, a total of sixteen 9mm cartridges were also recovered from the packet.
