New Delhi. President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive on an official visit to India on Monday. On Sunday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that this is President Nahyan’s third official visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during this visit, Prime Minister Modi and President Nahyan will discuss giving a new direction to the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership. There will also be an exchange of views on regional and global issues, on which the thinking of both the countries is largely similar. This will be Nahyan’s third official visit to India after becoming President, while it is his fifth visit to India in the last ten years. The visit will build on the strong momentum built by recent high-level contacts between India and the UAE. These include the visits of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2024 and Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to India in April 2025.

India-UAE major trading partners
India and the UAE enjoy strong and multifaceted relations in the political, cultural and economic fields. Both countries are each other’s major trade and investment partners. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) system and bilateral investment treaties have further strengthened these relationships. The two countries also have a strong partnership in the energy sector, including long-term supply agreements. India and UAE established diplomatic relations in 1972. The two countries are also working together in many international forums such as the United Nations, BRICS and the UAE-France-India trilateral forum.
